Contamianted Site / Reclamation Specialist - Future Opportunities

Location(s): Work Remotely (Alberta Based)

Our Disruptive Environmental and Land Management division is currently seeking a Contamianted Sites / Reclamation Specialist. The successful candidate will have a diverse skill set and experience with Remediation and Reclamation projects. You will work in a team atmosphere to ensure project requirements are completed safely and efficiently. You will provide cost-effective solutions while providing our clients with a high quality of work while maintaining professional ethics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Reclamation or similar discipline;

  • Professional designation is required;

  • 5+ years’ of relevant field experience;

  • Knowledge of the water act and experience with wetland classification is an asset.

  • Knowledge and experience with the 2010 Reclamation Criteria and Guidelines and the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Remediation Guidelines would be an asset

  • Understanding of the upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan

  • Experience with reclamation and remediation on private and public lands

  • Strong soil characterization and vegetation identification skills

  • Good physical health with willingness to travel and work in the field for extended periods

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Precise attention to detail and ability to produce professional quality deliverables on time and on budget;

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and database entry

What you will be responsible for

  • Execute scopes of work and cost estimates

  • Ensure project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner

  • Participating in technical and safety programs, quality assurance and quality control

  • Supervise small and large scale reclamation and remediation projects

  • Assist with execution of Phase 2 and Phase 3 site assessments

  • Complete detailed site assessments and groundwater monitoring

  • Manage and meet all client and regulatory ground disturbance requirements;

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, directives and SOP’s

  • Implement internal and client safety programs

  • Remain current with environmental legislation and regulatory updates, provide updated information as it becomes available to staff.

  • Review and Signoff of Environmental Site Assessments, Detailed Site Assessments and Reclamation Certificate Applications

Additional pay:

  • Overtime pay

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

  • Monday to Friday

  • Overtime

  • Weekend availability

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel out of town for extended periods of time

  • Experience driving on lease and forestry roads is required
